Offering a kaleidoscope of colours, sights and sounds, the GOP Variete Theatre in Hannover is the most conventional vaudeville theatre in Germany. The theatre was founded by William Shepherd which coincides with the opening of Hannover Messe in 1948. Amongst the original acts was KalaNag, one of the greatest magicians, amongst movie stars and famous singers. Housed within the reconstructed UFA Cinema "Grand Filmpalast", the vibrant array of performances dazzles the audience night after night presenting the best in vaudeville theatrics of international artists. However, despite the intriguing performances and vibrant entertainment, this theatre, like many theatres at the time closed down business due to the onset of the television era.

The year 1992 marked the resurrection of GOP Variete Theatre by the Grote family after 30 years of silence. With the addition of new theatrical technology, the show has become even more spectacular than before. Featuring magicians, clowns ventriloquists, jugglers, musicians, cabaret artists and more, each performance entrances the hearts of the audience. In order to present unique performances, the live show programmes are changed every month thereby providing the audience with new spellbinding entertainment.
