Christchurch is currently gearing up for its 32nd annual film festival, which will be held between July 31st and August 17th.

The Christchurch International Film Festival will pick the best movies from over 120 feature films and many other shorts that appeared in the nationwide event.

Some of the films confirmed include animated French film Persepolis and Man on Wire, a documentary about Philippe Petit who tightrope walked between the twin towers of the World Trade Centre.

It will also play host to a number of special guests such as Alister Barry, Pietra Brettkelly and Gerard Smyth, who is a resident of Christchurch.

The venues used to screen the films are the Rialto Cinemas and the Regent on Worcester.

Visitors to Christchurch looking for a combination of music and film may wish to attend the showing of critically acclaimed movie Across the Universe which will be presented by Global Voices, an a capella world music choir. ADNFCR-1748-ID-18702392-ADNFCR
