|Why Abu Dhabi?
Rosemary Behan, Ms Behan, the editor of the Abu Dhabi newspaper The National, writes in the Daily Telegraph that the emirate "gives a sense of big-city living with none of the hassle".
She explains that this is because the streets are clean, traffic is manageable and public beaches are only ever a five-minute drive away.
For visitors staying in an Abu Dhabi hotel, Ms Behan recommends they first go to the Corniche, a four-mile waterfront backed by tall buildings, parks, fountains, cycle lanes and walkways.
"Hire a bike for an hour or two from one of several rental centres to get the full view," she advises.
And if you want to get around, "Abu Dhabi has an impressive network of free buses, but taxi journeys rarely cost more than £1," Ms Behan concludes.
Abu Dhabi is the second-most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is also the seat of government for the Emirates.
