Superstar singer Rihanna is set to perform before fans in Dubai at the end of May, according to a new report.

The singer has not performed in several months, but the Dubai department of tourism has said that she will perform in a venue with a capacity of 25,000 on May 28th, although tickets have not yet been released for sale.

If the event does go ahead as planned, it will be the first time Rihanna has performed since an incident in February with then-boyfriend Chris Brown, which led to rumours of an assault against her.

Mary Rachelle Cherpak, a spokeswoman for Dubai Department of Tourism, told MTV News: "She chooses to do that in Dubai, which I think is a great credit to the destination that it has support of these top artists."

People keen to catch Rihanna in concert may choose to book a stay in a Dubai hotel when the tickets become available for sale.

Rihanna's music career was launched on an international scale with the stunning success of her single Umbrella two years ago.
