|Rawls picked to develop Yas Island in Abu Dhabi
Creativematch.co.uk reports that around 17,000 sq km of land in the emirate will be transformed into a massive complex offering hotels, marinas and homes, while it will also host a water park and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
Aldar Properties recruited Rawls to the project after the company's successes in Thailand and across Europe. The development will also involve extensive improvements to regional transport infrastructure to make access to the island easier.
Adam Rawls, managing director of the company, told the website: "Being picked by Aldar is really gratifying, cementing our reputation as retail design guardians and design approval agents for some of the world's best shopping and leisure schemes."
He added that he is looking forward to helping authorities in Abu Dhabi revolutionise the shopping experience in the region.
Yas Island will be in reach of many Abu Dhabi hotels, facilitating access for tourists planning a visit.
Adam Rawls started the firm in 1992, according to the company website and has won acclaim for projects such as the Cabot Circus shopping complex in Bristol.
