|Ramadan in Dubai
Ramadan is usually in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, as it is believed to be the month in which the Qur'an was revealed to the Angel Gabriel, who later revealed it to the Prophet Muhammad.
Visitors to Dubai, or any other destination in the Muslim world, are advised to follow the practices of the locals during this time.
During Ramadan, it is forbidden to eat or drink during the hours between dawn and dusk.
Followers of Islam must eat only during the hours of darkness, and the Iftar meal at dusk can be quite a feast!
Visitors are advised to observe these restrictions, as it is considered highly disrespectful and offensive to break them in public.
So make sure you take your food back with you to your Dubai hotel and eat in the privacy of your own room.
