|Pakistani centre to re-open in Abu Dhabi
The centre will be extensively renovated, given a new name and the focus will be on social meetings, leisure activities and the organisation of general community events.
Pakistani communities in the region have been affected by the lack of a venue in which to meet regularly and there have been consistent calls to have a new facility established.
According to the website, Khursheed Junejo, the Pakistani ambassador, told community members: "I am trying my best to reopen the centre with a new name to restart the cultural, social and sport activities for the community."
He added that community members should avoid bringing politics to the centre when it is eventually reopened.
Visitors hoping to see the newly opened centre could consider booking a stay in an Abu Dhabi hotel for the duration of their trip.
Abu Dhabi forms part of the United Arab Emirates, renowned for its oil production and expansive desert environment.
