|New retail stores open at Abu Dhabi airport
Several globally-renowned brands have opened their first airport stores in the terminal section, including accessories and shoe designer Jimmy Choo and Hermes.
The retail centre already hosts over 70 major brands throughout its 28,000 sq ft floor-space, with Cartier, Burberry, Polo Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss comprising a small selection of what is available to shoppers.
Eugene Barry, vice president of retail operations for DFS Middle East, the company which developed the airport's retail sector, told the website: "It's particularly satisfying for us to be able to bring a world-first to the capital in the form of Jimmy Choo's first ever standalone airport boutique and the first Hermes airport boutique in the region."
Visitors staying in an Abu Dhabi hotel or passing through the terminal itself may choose to shop in the huge variety of stylish outlets.
Creativematch.co.uk recently reported that UK firm Rawls will supervise retail development on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island.
