The 8th Middle East Toy Fair opened yesterday (Monday, March 23rd) in Dubai with exhibits from 30 different countries on display to the public.

Held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and run by Epoc Messe Frankfurt, the event showcases a huge range of children's products from toys and baby equipment through to gifts and stationary.

Visitors can browse exhibitions from 100 different companies until the event comes to an end on Wednesday March 25th.

Monica Schulz Blank, Epoc Messe Frankfurt's senior show manager for the Middle East Toy Fair, told Xpress: "According to the latest figures compiled by the Dubai Ports, the toy imports witnessed an increase of seven per cent since 2006, valued at Dh603 million (£113 million) for 2007."

People staying in a Dubai hotel may choose to visit the fair to browse the latest products or buy a gift before it closes on Wednesday.

Gulf News recently reported that Art Dubai 2009 has been opened in the Middle Eastern city.
