|Abu Dhabi says Formula One track will be ready
The Abu Dhabi race is scheduled to finish this year's world championship, but a series of construction delays has prompted speculation that the track will not be ready in time.
However, authorities insist everything will be ready, with tickets for the event having already been made available to the public.
The circuit said: "Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management (ADMM) confirmed that progress on the construction of Yas Marina Circuit, the host venue for the final race of the 2009 Formula One season finale, is on track and there are no concerns regarding delivery deadlines."
Circuit chief Philippe Gurdjian and Richard Cregan, former boss of Toyota's Formula One team, are overseeing development of the track.
Visitors staying in an Abu Dhabi hotel may be able to watch the scheduled race live later this year.
Lewis Hamilton has begun defending his championship title by winning a third-place finish at the Melbourne Grand Prix.
