|Abu Dhabi 'expanding very rapidly'
This is the view of Peter Sheard, senior associate at Gensler, an association of architects, designers, planners and consultants.
Speaking at the Waterfront Expo conference in Liverpool, he explained: "Like Dubai and Bahrain, Abu Dhabi is seeing its seafront as something that it can manipulate and change often physically so the waterfront is changing and changing quite rapidly."
The emirate is aware of how much investment is coming in as well as how much work needs to be done, he added, and so it has a development plan for 2030.
Mr Sheard noted that Abu Dhabi was "a city where if it wants to change something then it will change something".
