Victoria Wood is to return to the London stage as she directs a revival of her award-winning play Talent.

The production, which the comedian herself has referred to as "a comedy with songs" first entertained London hotel guests back in 1978, though since then it has rarely been performed in the capital.

Now, it has been confirmed that a new version of the show, which Wood scripted and which won her the London Evening Standard prize for Most Promising Playwright will come to London following a run in Bowness.

Opening on September 17th, Talent will run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, on London's vibrant South Bank.

Since opening in 2004, the Chocolate Factory has emerged as one of the city's brightest new theatre venues, particularly when it comes to comedies, and has become increasingly popular with London hotel guests.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the venue is the "bubbliest kid on the block and one of London's greatest theatre hopes".
