|V&A flicks through photographic books
Libraries of Light, which includes a number of photographic books from the V&A collection, opened in April and Kensington hotel visitors will be able to see the display until spring next year.
Photographic books are almost as old as the medium of photography itself.
One of the earliest recorded photographic books, The Pencil of Nature (1884), was authored by William Henry Fox Talbot, one of the inventors of photography.
The exhibition will look at the importance of the book as a medium for displaying photographs, exploring how images can take on new meanings when presented in imaginative layouts and accompanied by text.
Photographic books have been part of the V&A collection since 1852 and now form an important part of the museum's holdings.
