|Sunset Boulevard to open in West End
Based on the Billy Wilder film of the same name, the musical centres on the character of Norma Desmond, a faded movie star who lives in a house on the famous street that gives the show its title.
Norma's seemingly gloomy prospects as an actress are brightened when a young screenwriter comes to her door and offers her a potential comeback.
The music for the show is written by Lloyd Webber and directing duties are taken on by Craig Revel Horwood, best known as one of the judges on BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.
Sunset Boulevard first opened on the stage at the Adelphi Theatre in 1993, with this new production having its debut run at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury.
London audiences will be able to see the previews of the story's current musical incarnation from December 4th.
