|Scientific films go under the microscope
Over 30 documentaries dating from as early as 1903 will be on display at the Film of Fact exhibition running until November 30th at the South Kensington museum.
Tim Boon, chief curator at the Science Museum said: "Some of these films' beauty inspires awe; some can claim to have helped change contemporary thought; while others illuminate the continuing struggle for science's voice to be heard in the clamour of the modern media."
Thousands of London hotel visitors as well as locals and other tourists are expected to enjoy the exhibition during its run.
"It will also help to throw light on why we have the kind of science films we do, and ask visitors to consider whether we have the science filmmaking we need to address the great issues of today," said Mr Boon.
Entrance is free to the museum which hosts such famous historical items as Stephenson's Rocket.
