This month will see Reading's Rivermead centre host Robots Live!, the UK's largest and most successful organisers of live robot combat events.

For years the company has been raising the bar of robot building and robotic entertainment, setting an example that many others have tried to follow.

Robots Live! will visit the Reading Rivermead on October 11th and 12th, bringing with it a number of creations that many members of the audience will recognise from BBC 2's Robot Wars show.

This year's show follows on from the tour of 2007, which was enjoyed by some 12,000 people, and will feature new large video screens, new arena effects and a new house robot.

Robots Live! will be followed onto the Rivermead stage by Leeds five-piece Kaiser Chiefs.

The band will play in Reading on October 16th as part of a tour promoting their new album Off With Their Heads, which will also include shows in Glasgow (October 17th), and London (October 20th and 21st).
