|Riverdance to bid farewell to London
The Irish dance extravaganza will embark on a farewell tour of the UK next year that will take in the Hammersmith Apollo from February 18th to 21st.
Riverdance is a fast-moving, high-kicking dance celebration of Irish culture and song that has enjoyed great success all over the world.
It has come a long way since it was first introduced to a widespread audience in 1994 as a seven-minute interval filler during the Eurovision Song Contest.
Such was its popularity after its short appearance, Riverdance was expanded into a full-length production that had its first performance in Dublin in 1995.
The show mixes the style of Irish step dancing rigid arms, a straight body and quick leg movements with American and Spanish influences to create a unique and exciting spectacle.
Audiences will be able to see the final Riverdance tour in a number of other locations around the UK, including Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff.
