Reading hotel visitors will this month be able to enjoy a number of previews of the Edinburgh Fringe festival.

South Street will kick off its looks at the festival on July 22nd with Health and Stacey, a comedy play that sees an over-zealous health inspector meet a thrill-seeking girl named Stacey in the jungle.

This show is described as an "epic jungle romance with a government health warning".

Next up on July 22nd will be Dan Antopolski's Penetrating Gaze, a show presented by a former Perrier award nominee and star of BBC Two's Hyperdrive and Radio 2's Out to Lunch.

The following evening's entertainment at South Street will get underway with On the Island of Aars, a new musical from the creators of the hit Translucent Frogs of Quuup.

Rounding off the series of previews will be stand-up comedian Mark Watson, who will prepare for his brand new show at the Edinburgh Festival by presenting a range of old and new material.
