|Reading orchestra to perform legendary pieces
The Reading Symphony Orchestra (RSO) will give an opera-themed performance at the Concert Hall on June 14th.
This evening will feature some legendary musical works, including Johann Strauss' overture from Die Fledermaus and Wagner's prelude and 'liebestod' from Tristan and Isolde.
Reading's Symphony Orchestra will round the evening off with some show-stopping pieces from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story and Candide.
The orchestra will be joined on the night by soprano Naomi Harvey and violinist Clare Sledd, winner of the 2007 RSO Young Musicians competition.
Music lovers planning a stay in a Reading hotel in July may be interested in attending the Concert Hall for a lunchtime organ recital on July 9th, which will be performed by Eton College student Alex Stobbs.
