Fresh from his performance on TV's Dancing on Ice, Pop Idol finalist Gareth Gates is set to make his debut appearance in London's West End next month.

The singer, who lost out to Will Young in the original series of the talent contest Pop Idol, will take part in a gala show called A Spoonful Of Stiles & Drewe, which celebrates the careers of musical theatre composers George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

He will perform a song from the duo's new show Soho Cinders, which puts a modern day twist on the Cinderella story and features a brand new score with a contemporay edge.

Gates will star alongside experienced West End stars including Olivier Award-winning Hairspray actress Leanne Jones in the one night only performance, which will be shown at Her Majesty's theatre on Sunday July 6th.

"I'm busy in rehearsals with George and Anthony at the moment and to get the chance to work with them on songs from their latest show is a dream come true for me," the singer told The Stage.

Fans of Stiles & Drewe, whose most popular shows include Peter Pan, Tom Jones, Honk!, A Twist Of Fate and The Three Musketeers, could stay in a London hotel and make a break out of their evening at the show. ADNFCR-1417-ID-18637045-ADNFCR
