|National Ballet's Christmas season underway
Evocative music by Tchaikovsky and stunning choreography are blended to memorable effect in this show, which is full of such fairytale tropes as castles, forests, curses and fairies.
The English National Ballet's company of 67 dancers and full orchestra will bring this story to life at the London Coliseum until December 14th.
At the same venue, the ballet company will present The Nutcracker from December 17th to 30th.
This Christmas favourite also features music by Tchaikovsky and tells the tale of Clara, who travels to a land of snow and a kingdom of sweets with her toy nutcracker, which comes to life on Christmas Eve.
The English National Ballet will bring in the new year with a production of Manon, which will run from January 2nd to 11th.
