London's Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) has compiled a programme of classic movies that it will be showing to keep audiences entertained over the Christmas period.

There will be plenty of nostalgic films for London hotel visitors to enjoy during the Winter Warmers season, although not all will have a festive feel about them.

Getting the season underway on December 20th will be Alfred Hitchcock's spy thriller The 39 Steps, which will also be screened on December 28th and the 30th.

The first undeniable classic to be shown at the ICA over the Christmas period will be David Lean's tragically romantic Brief Encounter, which will show on December 21st, 27th and 29th.

Another great story of doomed romance, Casablanca, will come to ICA screens on December 23rd, 28th and 30th and will surely bring a tear to the eye of even the most hardened moviegoer.

People looking for some unadulterated Christmas cheer should head to the ICA on December 22nd, 23rd or 27th, when the venue will screen the timeless festive classic It's A Wonderful Life.

Another silver screen favourite, All About Eve, will feature on the Winter Warmers programme on December 22nd and 29th.
