|Lord of the Rings approaches end of journey
The Lord of the Rings has been a West End sensation since it opened more than a year ago, with nearly 500 performances seeing it play to an audience of more than 700,000.
It is ending its run in London in order to set off around the world to entertain audiences in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Producer Kevin Wallace said: "The show's creative team has proven just how enchanting, exhilarating and powerfully entertaining The Lord of the Rings can be live on stage.
"We will continue to bring this incredible theatrical event to audiences in London until July 19th, and we look forward to presenting the show to new audiences abroad from 2009."
The Lord of the Rings is one of the world's most popular fantasy creations, which became even more popular in recent years with the release of the movie adaptations of the three novels that comprise the series.
West London hotel visitors can see the musical version of the tale at Theatre Royal on Drury Lane.
