When it comes to eating out, no city on Earth can match London's diversity and quality, Canadian rock star Bryan Adams has claimed.

While the singer has travelled the globe many times and dined out in some of the world's top restaurants, he has now revealed that London's strong culinary scene is one of the main reasons he spends so much time in the UK.

Speaking as part of the Moncole Summer Series, Adams said: "I think London could have the best restaurants and the best food in the world now."

"I live part-time in Paris but Paris still has a long way to go. There's too much cheese everywhere," he added, according to the London Paper.

These comments come just days after it was announced that city's West End is set to be home to yet another world-class restaurant to add to the numerous top hotels in London.

Thomasina Miers, who won the title of MasterChef in 2005, is set to open the Wahaca Mexican in the heart of Covent Garden in August.
