|London Christmas market 'one of Europe's best'
Flight search engine Skyscanner compiled a list of the six best places for Christmas shoppers to get their "festive fix" and said that the Thames Frost Fair is a good choice.
This event reportedly dates back to times when London's famous river would freeze over every winter.
Visitors to the fair this year will be able to stave off the chilly conditions by drinking mulled cider and hot chocolate while browsing through stalls selling myriad gifts, decorations and food.
London hotel visitors will be spoilt for choice where Christmas markets are concerned this year, with dozens of fairs being held at some of the city's leading tourist locations.
Among the most popular is the Covent Garden Christmas market, which offers visitors plenty of opportunities to pick up some seasonal souvenirs while enjoying the area's dazzling festive lights.
