|Les Miserables rings the changes
Some of the show's major characters will be played by new actors, including Javert the obsessive policeman who refuses to give up his search for Jean Valjean, the story's protagonist and the insalubrious innkeeper Thenardier.
Earl Carpenter will fill the role of Javert, having recently played the title role in The Phantom of the Opera, while Thenardier will be played by Jimmy Johnston, whose stage credits include The Pirates of Penzance and Oklahoma!.
Jean Valjean will continue to be played by Drew Sarich.
It had previously been announced that the roles of Eponine and Cosette will from June 23rd be played by Nancy Sullivan and Leanne Dobinson, who came to public attention in the TV talent shows I'd Do Anything and How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?.
Les Miserables became the world's longest running musical in October 2006, when it broke the record previously held by Cats in the West End.
