Much-loved British actress Dame Judi Dench will appear in a reimagining of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream due to open in London next year.

Fans of the performer will be making London hotel arrangements ahead of the show's opening at the Rose Theatre on 9 February.

The fresh take on Shakespeare's fantastical comedy will see Dame Judi playing the role of Titania as a version of Queen Elizabeth I, the monarch she famously depicted in an Oscar-winning performance in the film Shakespeare In Love.

Sir Peter Hall will direct the production and will work with Dame Judi on a play that the pair first collaborated on in 1962 for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

London hotel guests had an opportunity to see the actress performing on stage earlier this year when she appeared in Madame de Sade at the Wyndham's Theatre.

Theatre fans can see another British star, Jude Law, taking on Shakespeare in a production of Hamlet that will run at the Wyndham's Theatre until August 22nd.
