|Japanese dogu figures coming to London
The Power of Dogu: Ceramic figures from ancient Japan will be open to the public from September 10th until November 22nd.
People staying in London hotels will be treated to 67 of these items, some of which date back to 12,500 BC.
According to the British Museum, the figures have been made in a tradition of pottery common to the Jamon period in the eastern country's history.
The works have no identifiable features and cannot be distinguished as people or animals.
It is thought that the figures fulfilled several purposes for the prehistoric Jamons, including acting as an incarnation of the spirits.
The exhibition will be located in Room 91 at the museum and is free to members of the public.
Located just a few minutes' walk from Russell Square station, the British Museum can be accessed on the Piccadilly Line from a Kensington hotel.
