The musical is set in Poland in 1942, when the country was occupied by German forces during the Second World War.
It follows a group of actors in the Warsaw ghetto who set up a play to help raise morale and inspire optimism in their community.
However, as the story develops, the full atrocity of Adolf Hitler's persecution of the Jewish people becomes clear and the actors' play begins to merge with the terrible reality of the war.
The show's cast is led by Peter Polycarpou, whose previous stage credits include appearances in Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and The Phantom of the Opera.
Other performers in the musical, which is due to run until the end of February 2009, include Leila Benn-Harris and Simon Gleeson, who between them have appeared in productions of Fame, Evita and Mamma Mia.
