Literature lovers with a passion for the Peter Pan stories should make their Kensington hotel bookings soon to take part in a themed walk around Kensington Gardens.

JM Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan, lived near the park and often took walks around the peaceful outdoor gardens.

A guided walk being held on July 24th will visit areas of the park that inspired Barrie as he wrote his Peter Pan stories.

Participants in the tour will be directed to a number of locations within the gardens that can be associated to features within the books.

Places on the walk are limited and visitors are urged to book in advance.

Kensington Gardens is home to a number of features that will be of interest to visitors, including a bandstand which on July 27th will host the Bristol East and Kingswood brass band.

In August performers on the bandstand will include the Tilbury brass band and the Royal Scottish Country Dancing Society.
