The famous theatre work Every Good Boy Deserves Favour will be the subject of a revival at the National Theatre in London this month.

Every Good Boy Deserves Favour represents the collaboration of two geniuses in their fields – musical conductor and composer Andre Previn and playwright Tom Stoppard.

Its presentation at the National's Olivier Theatre, which London hotel visitors will be able to see between January 16th and 30th, represents a restoration of the play three decades after it was first performed for the Queen's silver jubilee.

The plot involves a dissident and a man who believes he is surrounded by an orchestra, both of whom are locked up in an asylum, and asks the question of whether it is worth denying the truth to guarantee one's freedom.

Stoppard has a long and fruitful history with the National Theatre, which began in 1967 when the venue presented his play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.

Previn, who conducted the musical accompaniment for Every Good Boy Deserves Favour, is one of the most respected names in the music world and has worked with the Los Angeles Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra and others.
