It has been announced that comedian Gareth Hale will play the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in a new adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

The actor, who is best-known as one half of the comedy duo Hale and Pace, will appear in a festive adaptation of the famous story at the Arts Theatre from November 11th.

Writer and director Susie McKenna and composer Steve Edis are behind the new take on A Christmas Carol, which will feature music and plenty of audience participation.

Hale will be joined by three other cast members in the show - Simon Lipkin, Rebecca Thornhill and Michael Matus - who between them will play more than 30 characters.

Matthew White and Sharon D Clarke will provide vocal performances, while Brian Herring and Erin Lister will bring their skills as puppeteers to the production.

While they are waiting for A Christmas Carol to open, London hotel guests can visit the Arts Theatre before August 30th to see the comedy musical Naked Boys Singing.
