One of London's most famous thoroughfares will be closed on September 7th to allow the Regent Street Festival to get into full swing.

Traffic will be diverted from 12:00 until 20:00 as more than 600,000 people join in the free international event.

The theme for this year's festival is a celebration of Britishness, which will be represented through live music, food stalls, entertainment shows and much more.

Last year's event included impressive designs from Sumant Jayakrishnan, who transformed Regent Street into an arena of Indian style and expression, as well as performances by the Dhol Academy and Walk the Plank theatre groups.

Regent Street is one of London's most famous and popular locations, largely owing to its myriad shopping opportunities.

There are few tastes that won't be catered for on Regent Street, with stores ranging from H&M, Jaeger and Timberland to Hamleys and the Apple Store.
