Reading hotel visitors who have a soft spot for pantomime entertainment should head to the Hexagon in December for its production of Dick Whittington.

This show, which will feature a number of recognisable faces, will run from December 6th until January 4th.

John Altman, best known as 'nasty Nick' from EastEnders, will be the subject of the boos in his role as King Rat, while Christina Baily, best known for appearing in teen soap Hollyoaks, will play the title role.

The show will see the character of Dick, accompanied by his clever cat, attempting to defeat the evil king, find his fortune and become lord mayor.

There will be a slightly different tone on offer at the Hexagon on January 12th, when the venue will play host to the Circus of Horrors.

This macabre performance company, which has now been staging shows for 13 years, will present its latest creation, Apocalypse in the Asylum, along with plenty of new acts and shocks.
