|Commonwealth anniversary marked in new exhibition
The exhibition, which is open to London hotel guests and residents of the city, will run at the palace until September 30th.
It features a range of archival material from the Commonwealth, like photographs and film, as well as several outfits worn by the Queen herself during her visits to the countries in the group.
Almost 30 dresses worn by the monarch over the last six decades are on display, alongside gifts given to her from the Commonwealth nations' leaders.
The Commonwealth was formed by eight countries that had previously been under British rule as part of the Empire in 1949.
This figure has since increased to a total of 53 nations, which altogether have approximately 1.8 billion residents.
Since the Queen ascended the British throne in 1952, a third of her overseas travels have been to Commonwealth nations.
