|Classical music to come to life at Reading Concert Hall
One such opportunity will come on January 15th, when the venue will play host to the world famous pianist Mitsuko Uchida.
Describing Uchida's power as a musician, a review in the Independent once enthused: "No pianist conveys the rapture of Mozart quite like Mitsuko Uchida does.
"Inward-looking moments of repose positively levitate under her fingers. On the turn of a single note, she can achieve a kind of weightlessness that can still an entire hall."
Uchida will perform a number of pieces that audience members may be familiar with, or surprised by, including Bach's Art of Fugue, Mozart's Piano Sonata No 10 and several works by Gyorgy Kurtag.
The next performance at the Reading Concert Hall, on January 17th, will see the Aldworth Philharmonic Orchestra give recitals of pieces by Dvorak, Brahms and others.
