|Christmas visitors invited to get involved at Tate Britain
Every year, the gallery asks a leading contemporary artist to design a Christmas tree that will be put on display.
This year, the responsibility falls to Bob and Roberta Smith, who have decided to create a tree entirely out of recycled timber, bicycles and lamps.
An event entitled Make Your Own Xmas, running from December 5th to January 4th, will invite visitors to get involved with this artwork. The exact details of the public participation will be revealed on the first day of the event.
Visitors to Tate Britain during this period will also be able to visit the gallery's Turner Prize '08 exhibition, featuring the work of this year's nominees Runa Islam, Mark Leckey, Goshka Macuga and Cathy Wilkes.
The winner of the 2008 Turner Prize will be announced at Tate Britain on December 1st.
