People with an interest in 20th century British history may want to head to the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms for a fascinating lecture in February.

On February 10th, London hotel visitors will be able to hear the author Nicholas Rankin give a talk related to his book Churchill's Wizards: The British Genius for Deception.

The lecture will look at the four pillars of 20th century British deception: camouflage, propaganda, secret intelligence and the Special Forces.

In research for his book, Mr Rankin interviewed the many writers, producers and other behind-the-scenes figures that helped Churchill win the battle described as "the war of the unknown warriors".

His talk will be part of a series of lectures relating to the legendary wartime prime minister, which will run until May next year.

The series will include a talk by Alison Holmes on March 12th looking at Anglo-American relations and a lecture by University of Birmingham professor Gary Sheffield on April 7th focusing on Churchill's tenure as the minister of munitions.
