Fans of 1990s Britpop will have fond memories of the Bluetones and could well be interested in seeing one of the band's gigs in London next month.

The group, who were best known for singles such as Slight Return and Marblehead Johnson, will be playing at the London Astoria on December 19th as part of a short UK tour that will get underway in Lincoln on December 9th.

Fans in Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham will all have opportunities to see the band before they finish their tour in London.

The Bluetones enjoyed a fair amount of success in the 90s, with the album Expecting to Fly reaching number one in the charts in 1996 before Science and Nature got to number seven in 2000.

London hotel visitors will be able to catch a number of shows at the London Astoria over the coming weeks, including a gig by the Futureheads on November 29th.

The Dandy Warhols will play the venue on December 14th before New Model Army take to the stage on the 17th.
