The hit West End musical Avenue Q has had its run at the Gielgud Theatre extended until January 2010.

Featuring a cast of both humans and puppets, the show follows the character of a university graduate, Princeton, trying to make his way in life while living on the New York street of the title.

It ended its run at the Noel Coward Theatre in March but, following strong audience demand, reopened at the Gielgud Theatre in June, where it was given a limited run up to the end of September.

Avenue Q first opened in London in June 2006 following a successful run in New York. It was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for best new musical in 2007.

Any Dream Will Do contestant Daniel Boys is among the show's current performers, along with original cast member Julie Atherton.

There are many other popular musicals that London hotel guests can see during their break, such as Hairspray, Blood Brothers, Mamma Mia and Chicago.
