|Arthur Miller play at Duke of York's Theatre
A View from the Bridge will open at the theatre on St Martin's Lane on January 22nd and run until May 16th.
The play stars Ken Stott, a well-known actor in the UK owing to his roles in television shows including Rebus and Messiah, and is directed by Lindsay Posner.
It follows the story of dockworker Eddie Carbone, who lives happily enough in 1950s Brooklyn with his wife and niece.
When his wife's Italian cousins arrive illegally in the United States, Eddie, an immigrant himself, offers them a place to stay but soon sees his hospitality have a shocking effect on his life.
A View from the Bridge was one of many plays written by Miller that won great critical acclaim and scholarly attention, along with The Crucible, Death of a Salesman and others.
