|Shakespeare in the Park heads to Singapore
Between May 7th and 10th Fort Canning Park will host the Shakespeare in the Park play series, which this year will focus on the classic comedy Much Ado About Nothing.
Audiences will be able to enjoy the Bard's theatrical prose under the stars and enjoy picnics while they absorb the Elizabethan play.
Shows will begin daily at 19:30 local time and VIP packages are available for those seeking the best seats in the park.
The acting group presenting the play is the Singapore Repertory Theatre, which says its goal is to provide audiences with a Broadway and West End experience in Singapore and to give actors an opportunity to perform on and off traditional stages.
In 2007, the group performed A Midsummer Night's Dream, at Fort Canning Park and over 20,000 people turned out to see the Shakespearean spectacle.
