|See Rashomon in Singapore
Between September 3rd and 13th the Drama Centre Theatre at the National Library will present Rashomon, which tells the tale of a widowed husband who makes contact from the dead 100 years after his burial.
VisitSingapore says: "Akira Kurosawa's visionary film Rashomon (1950), based on short stories Rashomon and In a Grove, has been hailed as one of the ten most influential films in history.
"Half a century later, the film is still an exemplary work of art, inspiring adaptations and tributes on stage and film."
Director Kuo Jing Hong has reinterpreted the story with a production that makes use of physical theater and a visually-potent set.
Meanwhile, on September 4th and 5th fans of performance art will be able to see a Season of Brilliance - A Contemporary Triple Bill at the National University of Singapore's Cultural Centre Hall.
The show presents a range of dance styles, says VisitSingapore.
