|Ramayana epic in Singapore
On August 1st and 2nd The Legend; The Journey will play at the University Cultural Centre Hall at the National University of Singapore from 20:00 local time.
Visit Singapore says: "Enjoy a myriad of dance styles, including ethnic dance forms such as Bharatha Natyam (Indian), Baris and Wayang Wong (Balinese)."
The performance is directed by Kavitha Krishnan and is the first time a Singapore-based arts company has explored the Hindu traditional of Ramayana with contemporary dance theatre.
It depicts the age old battle between good and evil, while exploring themes of friendship, love and anguish, providing audiences with a night of unrelenting entertainment.
Visitors to Singapore will also be able to see British rock act Keane play in the Asian city for the first time.
The group will perform at Fort Canning Park on August 13th.
