|Preparations for Singapore Cup race ahead
Those staying at a Singapore hotel will be able to enjoy the horse racing event at the Singapore Turf Club on May 17th.
Jockeys from far and wide will compete for the S$3 million (£1.35 million) prize at the Kranji Racecourse, which makes the competitions one of the world's richest horse races, according to the event's organisers.
Horses race over 2,000 metres and ten furlongs for the prime position and as many as 16 jockeys participate in the competition, which began back in March 2002.
In the past, some of the globe's best-known horses have taken part in the race, including France's Jim and Tonic, the United Arab Emirates' Sea Wave and Hong Kong's Oriental Express.
Competitors have already started to arrive in Singapore for the event, with South African horses Bankable and Mythical Flight touching down at Changi Airport on Friday May 1st.
