Rugby fans from all over the globe may be checking into a Singapore hotel later this year for a key event in the sport's calendar.

Between November 6th and 8th the 62nd Singapore Cricket Club International Rugby 7s will take place at the Padang rugby ground.

The tournament will see top clubs from South Africa, the US, the UK, Fiji, New Zealand and a variety of Asian nations descend upon Singapore to make their bid for the title.

Local bands will add some entertain to the event and a range of food and drink stalls will be on hand, alongside a crèche to keep little ones occupied.

Players at the event are competing for the Ablitt Cup, which is named after the convenor of the SCC Rugby Section from 1931 to 1932, while second place winners will receive the silver Ablitt Cup.
