Millennium Maxwell House Hotel Takes Ownership of ‘Southern Style’ To Create Signature Wedding Package

NASHVILLE, TN – March 20, 2007 – Here in the heart of the South, home of the Grand Ole Opry and famous for its gracious hospitality, regional culture and traditions are taken seriously. Mint juleps, magnolias and croquet on the lawn are more than the sum of their parts; they are ingredients of a unique American Southern style recognized the world over but most appreciated right at home.

The Millennium Maxwell House Hotel, one of the city’s most endearing landmarks, believes that one of the most important events in a man or woman’s life – a wedding – deserves everything that Southern style stands for. Hence the Signature Southern Belle Wedding Package.

Pre-wedding mint juleps and croquet on the lawn – along with an elegant patio or poolside cocktail hour with Peach Bellini’s – are just the beginning. The package covers everything from “ Getting Ready in Style” to the ultimate honeymoon in the Presidential Suite.

From an elegantly memorable wedding to the “over-the-top” gala reception and dinner to the smallest detail of decoration, nothing is overlooked in the Signature Southern Belle Wedding Package. Banquet staff, dressed in antebellum attire, greets guests as they arrive. In preparation for the big event, the bride’s hospitality room offers manicures, pedicures, massage, even a high tea service while butler service and massage are provided to the groom as he and his groomsmen prepare.

Magnolias, hydrangea and white roses, sprinkled rose petals, candelabras, twinkle lights and large candle globes set the tone of the wedding itself, held in the hotel’s romantic outdoor pavilion and accompanied by live music from a string quartet. One of the most enchanting symbols of southern style – a white parasol – is provided as a take home gift for each guest. The hotel also provides the services of a clergyman as well as an experienced audio/visual technician to help capture the moment.

The Maxwell House wedding reception begins with an exclusive one-hour cocktail party in the Crown Ballroom overlooking the Nashville skyline. White gloved butlers mingle with the guests, offering such tantalizing tidbits as cucumber sandwiches, snow crab salad and asparagus and herb cheese phyllo rolls and strolling musicians play. Cocktail tables are carefully decorated in beautiful linen to match the bride’s color scheme. Cameras are provided for guests’ use.

And then, the culmination of a perfect day: a three-course, gala dinner in the Grande Ballroom, with exclusive patterned crystal and china, specialty linen, gorgeous flowers, and live chamber music. Needless to say, the bride and groom can choose their favorite dishes for their bridal dinner but Chef Kevin Randolph suggests his gourmet dual-entrée menu that features beef tenderloin and vol-de-mer, a combination of lobster, shrimp, scallops and lobster cream sauce, and the bride’s choice of wines. Topping it off is the quintessential Southern Style wedding cake, a Champagne toast and dancing. The hotel also provides an MC for the occasion and a photographer. With guests throwing white rose petals, a dove release on the red carpeted grand entry staircase is the perfect send off for bride and groom.

Following the reception the happy couple is whisked away in a horse drawn carriage ride through Centennial Park before beginning their honeymoon in the Presidential Suite complete with a Jacuzzi tub. To further enhance the moment, the hotel will provide romantic lighting and music CD, the chef’s signature chocolate-dipped strawberries and Champagne; rose petals sprinkled throughout the suite and breakfast in bed the next morning.

The price tag for this extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime occasion? An exceptional value at $50,000 for 250 guests.
