|Antony and the Johnsons to perform in New York
The group, fronted by singer Antony Hegarty, will be on stage at the Berklee Performance Center in NYC on Sunday, February 22nd.
Antony and the Johnsons originally released their self-titled debut album in 1998 but it was re-issued in 2000, followed by a new EP entitiled I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy, which came out in 2001.
Lead singer Hegarty wrote all of the songs and the group's second album, I am a Bird Now, was released in 2005 and won the UK's prestigious Mercury Music Prize for that year.
Several well-known singers appear on the record, including Boy George, Rufus Wainwright and Lou Reed.
Tickets for the NYC gig, which is due to start at 7.30pm, vary in price from $28 to $35 depending on whereabouts audience members are seated.
