News|International Fair for Investment and Trade in XiamenLiu Cigui, mayor of Xiamen, has said that this year the fair will cover 60,000 square metres, double the size of past events, allowing for 2,500 booths up 1,000 from last year set up by businesses from 41 countries. Taking place from the 6th to the 11th, it is China's biggest international investment event and is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce. Mr Cigui said that the fair has evolved with China's economy to become more than just a way for the Chinese to attract foreign investment it now allows Chinese businesses to become players on the global market by making international partnerships. Organisers are also hoping the fair will help increase partnership between the mainland and Hong Kong. Businessmen or women who want to attend the fair can make a safe investment by staying at the Millennium Harbourview Hotel Xiamen. The hotel is just twenty minutes drive from the exhibition centre and the airport.
