People heading to hotels in Wuxi could be interested to know the city is very soon to be twinned with San Antonio in the US.

The Chinese city is set to see its mayor meet with his counterpart from the American city next month to sign the documents that will see the two cities officially joining together.

When the agreement is signed, Wuxi will become the ninth city to have an agreement with San Antonio.

Mayor Zhu Kejiang will be part of a delegation of around 12 people who will travel to the city on February 15th, with the group set to have a guided tour of the South Texas Medical Centre during their stay.

It is hoped the visit will help to increase trade relations between the two cities.

Earlier this month, Caterpillar announced it would be expanding its factory in Wuxi as it seeks to work on more products designed specifically for the Chinese market.
